Mt Cook/Aoraki National ParkThe majestic beauty of the South Island is a must for any visitor to the South Island and one of the best ways to view the spectacular scenery is aboard a Great Sights luxury coach, for a fascinating one-way day trip from Christchurch to Queenstown via Mt Cook/Aoraki, traveling through the fertile farmland of the Canterbury Plains ascending up Burkes Pass to the desert alpine landscape of the MacKenzie basin with its alpine desert landscape, to the shores of the stunning, glacier-fed Lake Tekapo, where there is a stop to view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd, travelling pass the glacier lake of Lake Pukaki, to New Zealand's tallest mountain - Aoraki (Mt Cook), situated in a Mt Cook/Aoraki National Park - an UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a lunch stop of 1 hour 25 minutes.

There is time to experience an optional scenic helicopter flight (weather permitting) or walk on one of the may walking tracks.

After lunch your journey continues through the alpine desert region of the Mackenzie basin, before descending down through the Lindis Pass and through the rugged Karweu Gorge to New Zealand's adventure capital - Queenstown.

Optional lunch at Mt Cook/Aoraki is available and can be prebooked.

Accommodation pick up in Christchurch and drop off in Queenstown is included.
